We suggest using a thermal imager for a more comprehensive analysis of the tire operation process. Based on our experience, the most convenient tool is the CAT S60 mobile phone with an integrated thermal imager. It is not affected by external factors and has an IP67 protection level.
The information obtained in the infrared spectrum allows determining thermal damage to the tire at an early stage and the tire load distribution, as well as estimating how well the tire compound is matched to the specific operating conditions. By obtaining the relevant information, a tire engineer can implement measures to improve tire operational efficiency.
For example: apply the Crosstyre system (tire mate), choose a tire with a different compound or tread height, carry out a professional claim settlement with tire suppliers, plan the tire dismantling and repair at an early stage of tire damage.
